Understanding destiny helps us cope with life’s challenges
Quite often in relation to challenging life events, we hear the phrase, ‘its God’s way’ or ‘it’s a mystery’. In truth, there is no mystery. Everything happens for a reason and is governed by the law of give-and-take (Karma), destiny and wilful action as shared in our earlier post “How does destiny and karma work?”
• Ignorance about the factor of destiny and the give-and-take account leads to people in adverse situations crying out in despair saying, ‘What have I done to deserve this?’
• Sometimes this can lead to blaming God or loss of faith in God or in the fairness of life.
• In most cases, because people are not educated about the principle of destiny, they do not know how to cope with or overcome whatever is happening that is due to their own past deeds.
• If they were to be educated about the law of give-and-take they would at least have a philosophical view about those events where things have gone wrong despite their best efforts.
• Also they would be careful about not creating further negative destiny.
Conversely settling of positive destiny gives us a pleasant surprise. That is why we sometimes find that apparently totally non-deserving people win a lottery or enjoy a good lifestyle without having to really work for it. Understanding the science and principle demystifies all such happenings.

What makes a certain person more prone to become an addict? There can be many contributing factors to this:
1.) Destiny: The negative destiny of the person.
2.) Demerits: Likelihood of more demerits versus merits. By demerits we mean the accumulation of various demerits from previous births as well as the present to be played out in this birth.
3.) Type of ancestors: Having many ancestors with addictions. High intensity of give-and-take account with the addict ancestor/s.
4.) Time: According to Time, i.e. a particular patch or period in a person’s life, when they are spiritually more vulnerable. People become vulnerable spiritually when there is a lack of spiritual practice, higher amount of wilful demerits or a high amount of ego.
5.) Spiritual development: People of a lower spiritual level are more prone to attack. It is extremely rare to find a person doing regular quality spiritual practice according to the six basic principles of spiritual practice to be an addict.
6.) Affinity: The person’s affinity for the substance or thing makes them more vulnerable for possession.
7.) Spiritual level of the parents: The higher the spiritual level of the parents, the less the impact on the embryo at the time of conception.

What is the accuracy of Astrology when used as a tool to predict the future for decision making? इस बार २८(28) अगस्तको मनाई जानेवाली जन्माष्टमी तिथि राशि और नक्षत्रके कारण विशेष है। ज्योतिष शास्त्रज्ञोंके अनुसार ५०५७ (5057) वर्ष पश्चात जन्म अष्टमीपर तिथि, वार, नक्षत्र व ग्रहोंके अद्भुत मेलका ऐसा संयोग बना है जो श्रीकृष्ण जन्मके समय द्वापर युगमें बना था।
इस दृष्टिकोणसे इस बारकी जन्माष्टमी विशेष फलदायी होगी। इससे पहले सन १९३२ (1932) और २००० (2000) में भी बुधवारके दिन जन्म अष्टमी पडी थी। उस समय तिथि और नक्षत्रका मेल नहीं था परंतु इस बार नक्षत्र, दिन, तिथि, लग्न सभी एक साथ विद्यमान रहेंगे। अष्टमी तिथि सूर्योदयसे होनेके कारण वैष्णव और शैव संप्रदाय इस पर्वको एक ही दिन मनाएंगे।

• जब भगवान श्रीकृष्णने गोवर्धन पर्वत उठाया था तब गोप –गोपियां, यह देख तालियां नहीं बजा रहे थे वरन सब अपनी अपनी लाठियां लगा अपना योगदान देना चाहते थे ! उन्हें पता थे भगवान श्रीकृष्ण गोवर्धन पर्वत उठानेमें सक्षम हैं परंतु वे इस ईश्वरीय कार्यमें अपनी क्षमता अनुसार योगदान देना चाहते थे ! इसे भाव कहते हैं ! जब भगवान श्री राम लंका जानेके लिए समुद्र पर पुल बना रहे थे तब एक गिलहरी अपने गीले शरीरमें बालूमें लेप, पुल बनानेमें अपना सामर्थ्य अनुसार योगदान दे रही थी ! यह दोनों घटना हमें ईश्वरीय कार्यमें अपने सामर्थ्य अनुसार भागीदार बनने की प्रेरणा देते हैं ! कालानुसार धर्म संस्थापनाका कार्य संतों के संकल्पके कारण होने ही वाला है, हम इतिहासके भागीदार बनते हैं या मात्र साक्षीदार यह हमारे पुरुषार्थपर निर्भर करता है
When Shri Krushna had lifted Govardhan Parvat (mountain), the Gopas-Gopis (male and female cowherds) were not clapping. Instead, all of them tried to make a contribution by providing support with their lathis (sticks). They knew very well that Lord Krushna was capable of lifting Govardhan, but they wanted to contribute their mite to the divine act. This is known as Bhav (spiritual emotion). When Lord Rama was building the bridge across the sea to cross over to Lanka, a squirrel covered her body with sand, thereby contributing according to its own capacity in building the bridge. Both these incidents inspire us to become a participant in contributing to the divine work according to our capacity. At present , the work of Dharma Sansthapana (establishment of righteousness) will become a reality due to the resolve of the saints, so now it depend on us whether we become active participants in the making of history by putting our efforts, or remain a mere spectator in the entire process.

ನಿಜವಾದ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಉಳ್ಳವರ ಚಿತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಭಗವಂತನ ಚಿಂತನವೇ ತುಂಬಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಭಗವನ್ಮಯವಾಗಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವುದರಲ್ಲೂ ಭಗವಂತನೇ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇವರು ಪ್ರತೀ ಘಟನೆಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಭಗವಂತನಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅವನ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ನೆಡೆಯತ್ತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಅರಿವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಭಗವಂತನಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರುತಿಗೂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರು ಸದಾ ಭಗವಂತನ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಒಂದೊಂದು ಸಂಗತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ‘ಭಗವಂತನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಅದ್ಭುತ’ ಎನ್ನುವಂತೆ ಇವರು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇವರು ಭಗವಂತನ ಪ್ರಸಾದ ಎನ್ನುವಂತೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂತವರ ಜೀವನ ಆನಂದಮಯವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಯೋಚನೆ ಸುಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಸದಾ ನಿರ್ಮಲವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರು ಲೋಕ ವ್ಯವಹಾರದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಭಗವಂತನ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಸದಾ ಆನಂದಪಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ...

THE TRUE GURU
M: Words of a realised man never miss their purpose. They wait for the right conditions to arise which may take some time, and. this is natural, for there is a season for sowing and a season for harvesting. But the word of a Guru is a seed that cannot perish. Of course, the Guru must be a real one, who is beyond the body and the mind, beyond consciousness itself, beyond space and time, beyond duality and unity, beyond understanding and description. The good people who have read a lot and have a lot to say, may teach you many useful things, but they are not the real Gurus whose words invariably come true. They also may tell you that you are the ultimate reality itself, but what of it?
Q: Nevertheless, if for some reason I happen to trust them and obey, shall I be the loser?
M: If you are able to trust and obey, you will soon find your real Guru, or rather, he will find you.
Q: Does every knower of the Self become a Guru, or can one be a knower of Reality without being able to take others to it?
M: If you know what you teach, you can teach what you know, Here seership and teachership are one. But the Absolute Reality is beyond both. The self-styled Gurus talk of ripeness and effort, of merits and achievements, of destiny and grace; all these are mere mental formations, projections of an addicted mind. Instead of helping, they obstruct.
Q: How can I make out whom to follow and whom to mistrust?
M: Mistrust all, until you are convinced. The true Guru will never humiliate you, nor will he estrange you from yourself. He will constantly bring you back to the fact of your inherent perfection and
encourage you to seek within. He knows you need nothing, not even him, and is never tired of reminding you. But the self appointed Guru is more concerned with himself than with his disciples.

Gayatri Mantra: Let my mind, my whole life energy be soaked in Divinity.
Ga-ya-tri – there are three types of misery. We have three bodies, the gross body, the subtle and the causal body. And in all the three levels there is misery. The human life has to cross-over all the three, and that is what Gayatri means. One who sings it, sails over the ocean of misery to go to bliss.
"The Gayatri mantra is one of the greatest prayers mankind has.
What does it say? Let me soak in the Divine, and let the Divine destroy all my sins. The Divine light that burns all sin, let me adore and soak in that Divine light. And let the Divinity inspire my intellect.
See, all our actions happen through our intellect, right? Thoughts comes and then you act. So you pray to the Divine to bring good thoughts into your mind. You pray to the Divine, 'Take over my intellect. Inspire my intellect'; dhiyo yonah prachodayat.
Dhi means intellect. May my intellect be guided by, kindled by, and inspired by you (Divinity).
When right thoughts come, your action will always be right. When intuitive thoughts come, your actions will be fruitful. So praying for the best thought. Let my mind, my whole life energy be soaked in Divinity. That is it."
