Hanuman – A Great Disciple of Rama
Hanuman – A Great Disciple of Rama
Hanuman is a supreme devotee of Sri Rama. Many incidents of Hanuman’s life acclaim this love. This is one interesting story which confirms the deep love of Hanuman for Lord Rama. Once when Sita ji (Consort of Lord Rama) was applying sindoora (vermillion) to her hair, Hanuman asked her the reason for doing so. She replied that by applying sindoora, she ensured a long life for her husband. The more sindoora she applied, the longer Rama’s life would be. The devoted Hanuman then smeared his entire body with sindoora, in an effort to ensure Rama’s immortality.

The following are some ways to include chanting at work.
For any spiritual practice to be successful it is important that both the quality and quantity are appropriate. It is recommended that one chant the Name of God as much as possible through out the day.
The following are some ways to include chanting at work.
1. One can spare a few minutes every hour and chant intensely during that time or complete at least one mala, i.e. 108 counts.
2. One could count the number of repetitions using one’s fingers and keep a note of the total count using a note pad.
3. One can chant during mundane activity like taking a lunch or coffee break or activity that does not require much mental involvement like faxing documents, etc.
4. One can use the travel time to and from work
for chanting.
Most seekers face the obstacle of not remembering to chant in spite of having the desire to chant. To remind oneself to chant at work, one could do the following:
- If one works on a computer, then a pop-up window can be set up that reminds one of chanting.
- Alternatively we can set a reminder on our cell phone that reminds one of chanting.
- Every hour, one can note down whether one has completed the minimum amount of chanting planned for that hour.

Who will engage himself in such action as will get him neither dharma nor reputation nor lasting fame and which will only result in physical exhaustion?

[Context: Jatayu’s advice to Ravana to refrain from abducting Sita. This is going to cost him dearly, something which he will not be able to bear.]- "Tthrough the worship of Maha-Kali, Maha-Lakshmi, and Maha-Sarasvati, we worship Mula-Prakriti, Adi-Sakti in her cosmic dance-form of transformation, prosperity and Illumination. In the beginning, what happens to a Sadhaka? There is a necessity of self-transformation. It is all hardship, rubbing and cleaning, washing, sweeping, etc. That is the first stage through the worship of Maha-Kali, who brings about a destruction of all barriers. Then what happens? There is tremendous prosperity. You become a master and a progressive soul commanding all powers, getting everything that you want. This is the second stage. In the first stage, it looked as if you were a poor person, having nothing, very weak. But, when you overcome this weakness, by removing the barrier of Tamas, you become prosperous. Nobody can be as rich as a Yogi, you know. He can command all the powers. By a thought he can invoke all things, and this is Goddess Maha-Lakshmi working. WhenMaha-Kali has finished her work of destruction of opposition, Maha-Lakshmi comes as prosperity. A great Yogi is also like a royal personality, because of his internal invocations, though unconsciously done, of cosmic powers. When prosperity dawns, it looks as if the whole universe is a heaven. In the first stage, it looked like a hell. Afterwards, in the second stage, it looks like a heaven, when Maha-Lakshmi begins to work. But this also is not sufficient. Knowledge should dawn. It is not heaven that you are asking for. You want the realisation of Truth. Sarasvati will come for help and a flood of light on Truth will be thrown and you will see things as they are. There is no enjoyment, prosperity, richness, wealth or any such thing. It is Truth unconnected with yourself in the beginning, but later on inseparable from yourself. Thus, from opposition to prosperity, from prosperity to enlightenment, and from enlightenment to Self-realisation do we proceed. So, these are the truths esoterically conveyed to us in the Mantras of the Devi-Mahatmya."

Yogic asanas and pranayam purify our physical and vital bodies
Yogic asanas and pranayam purify our physical and vital bodies
From this chart you can see that yogic asanas and pranayam purify the physical body and the vital body (prāṇa-dēha) respectively, that is increase the Sattva component in them. For example by yogic asanas the physical body would be spiritually purified up to 20% by an increase in the Sattva component, and this would require 10 years on an average.
If yogic asanas and pranayam are complemented with other forms of spiritual practice to purify the mental body and other bodies then a person can achieve rapid spiritual progress in his lifetime. Thus a person can make progress to achieve the purpose of life which is to merge with God.

What Is the Symbolism of Siva's Dance?
The symbolism of Siva Nataraja is religion, art and science merged as one. In God's endless dance of creation, preservation, destruction and paired graces is hidden a deep understanding of our universe. Aum Namah Sivaya.
Bhashya
Nataraja, the King of Dance, has four arms. The upper right hand holds the drum from which creation issues forth. The lower right hand is raised in blessing, betokening preservation. The upper left hand holds a flame, which is destruction, the dissolution of form. The right leg, representing obscuring grace, stands upon Apasmarapurusha, a soul temporarily earth-bound by its own sloth, confusion and forgetfulness. The uplifted left leg is revealing grace, which releases the mature soul from bondage. The lower left hand gestures toward that holy foot in assurance that Siva's grace is the refuge for everyone, the way to liberation. The circle of fire represents the cosmos and especially consciousness. The all-devouring form looming above is Mahakala, "Great Time." The cobra around Nataraja's waist is kundalini shakti, the soul-impelling cosmic power resident within all. Nataraja's dance is not just a symbol. It is taking place within each of us, at the atomic level, this very moment. The Agamas proclaim, "The birth of the world, its maintenance, its destruction, the soul's obscuration and liberation are the five acts of His dance." Aum Namah Sivaya.
