Give-and-take account and why we do the things we do

Give-and-take account and why we do the things we do

Unknown to our conscious mind, we are more often than not acting or thinking because of deep-rooted impressions in our subconscious mind. Destiny and the give-and-take account are reflected in the way we live our lives and heavily influence the choices that we make. So what is the mechanism of action of the give-and-take account? We have provided an example below that will help to clarify how the give-and-take account influences our choices.

To find out how this give-and-take account centre can determine how we think and act, please visit: http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/articles/id/spiritualresearch/spiritualscience/lawofkarma/spiritualscienceofkarma

OM

Bhagavad Gita Kannada

Be Determined Not To Commit Sin :

Be Determined Not To Commit Sin :

It is extremely essential for man not to lose his patience. At times, when a severe storm blows, then even the big trees are rooted out. But if a tree remains firmly grounded in such windy conditions, then there is no danger to it. In the same way, when the wind of lust, anger, and greed etc., blows and passes by, their momentum comes to an end and everything is set right. You may face the worst of adversity, but you will simply not sin, you will not commit injustice, you will not conduct yourself in any manner opposed to the scriptures. Be patient. Even if you die of starvation then so be it. What more can happen, tell me? If you have nothing to eat, the severest punishment you may get is to die of starvation. But if you commit sins, it will pave the way to eight-four lac forms of lives and hell and there is no more severe punishment than hell. But if you are once determined not to commit a sin, no power can force you to do so.

LOVELY SHIV SATI :) ♥

LOVELY SHIV SATI :) ♥

1. Renunciation of the body

1. Renunciation of the body

When the Yadavs fought amongst themselves and most died at Prabhas, Balaram renounced His body in the sea, that is He took jalasamadhi. Then one day, when Krushna was seated below the ashvattha tree with His left foot on His right thigh, a hunter named Jara mistook Him for a deer and shot an arrow which struck the sole of His left foot. When the hunter came close he realised his mistake and asked Krushna for forgiveness. Krushna pacified him and sent him to heaven. The place where this incident occurred is called ‘Bhalakatirtha’. Bhal means the tip of a spear or an arrow. At that time Krushna’s charioteer Daruk appeared there. As he alighted the chariot and approached Krushna, the chariot disappeared. Then Krushna directly merged His body into the five cosmic elements. (Saint Tukaram and Saint Muktai too have done the same.) According to some, the ashes of Subhadra, Balabhadra (Balaram) and Krushna were in a bamboo box which with the current of water reached Jagannathpuri. People installed the ashes there and began ritualistic worship.
On hearing that Krushna had culminated His incarnation Vasudev, Devaki and Rohini too renounced their bodies. Krushna’s eight wives entered the pyre and became satis. When Arjun came to know of this he went there and took the remaining wives and children of Krushna to his capital Indraprastha. After they left Dvarka, it too got submerged in the sea. Since without Krushna Arjun was powerless wild people attacked and defeated him and abducted the women.
Incarnations are not assumed according to destiny. Inspite of this ‘How is it that Rama had to take birth again as the incarnation Krushna in which He had to renounce His body after He was shot at with an arrow by Vali who was reborn as a hunter and whom He had slain with an arrow in the previous birth?’ is what some people wonder. Such examples are given only to emphasise the point that ‘one should not trouble another’. In reality in case of incarnations the concept of destiny does not hold good at all because throughout their lives their actions are non-actions (akarma karma). Apart from this those who are slain by them attain the Final Liberation (Moksha).

3. Abode [the go region (Golok)]

Information on the go region of Krushna is given in the Padma and Brahmavaivarta Purans. This abode of Krushna is akin to Kailas of Shiva and Vaikunth of Vishnu.

4. Science behind the idol

With regard to the various facets in Krushna’s life various types of idols are given below. The variation seen in these idols is exceptional. It is not seen in the idols of other deities or incarnations.

A. The infant form

  • Santangopal: The one clinging onto Yashoda’s waist
  • Balkrushna: The crawling Krushna. This idol adorns the temple in most homes.
  • Kaliyakrushna: The one slaying Kaliya, the serpent king.
  • Govardhandhari: The one lifting the Govardhan mountain.

B. Holding a flute

  • Radhakrushna (Venugopal): Krushna standing with His right foot crossed and held against the left border of the left foot while playing the flute with Radha standing beside Him.
  • Murlidhar: This idol of Krushna has four arms. Rukmini and Satyabhama are standing on either side of Him. These idols are common in South India.

C. Madangopal

Murlidhar with eight arms.

D. Parthasarathi

The one narrating the Gita to Arjun.

SAI VACHAN

This means, can he satisfy their master and Lord following crooked way?

Pic: Drawn & sent by Radhika Verma. All the best.

A devotee has only one aim. It is to satisfy his master and Lord.

This means, can he satisfy their master and Lord following crooked way?

No. He may deceive the master by MAKING A SHOW, but, he can not deceive Krishna.

Whatever satsangha it is (I do not mean any one satsangha) , the following practice is there in some cases (Not all). There are many devotees who are tirelessly working for the development of the devotional service. But, some dominating devotees will always keep these hard workers behind the screen and ensure that the master can not know about the hard works of these innocent devotees.

The lower level devotees will do many achievements in many aspects. The head of these devotees will show these achievements as his achievement and get applause from his master.

This will make these innocent lower level devotees as ADDRESS-LESS. They will never be noted by their master as there is a screen between them and their master. They can not even meet their master whenever they want.

Thus, we may hide the facts from the master or people. But, we can not hide anything from the Lord.

If we work to suppress others and get the good name from other people, it will not be blessed by Lord. But, if we work to please Lord like a detached and HUMBLE person (here, the lower level devotees), Krishna embraces him and elevates him.

So, work to please the Lord, not to satisfy your ego.

* Denigration causes spiritual pollution **

* Denigration causes spiritual pollution **

There is a lot of misunderstanding in society regarding art depicting hindu Deities and symbols, and the purpose for which these symbols should be used.

In the words of the eminent Hindu scholar Dr David Frawley “To really understand denigration of Hindu images, we must understand the Hindu view of art !

Art and religion are two aspects of the same human pursuit of the sacred. Yet Hindu thought does discriminate between sacred and non- sacred art.

The work of the artist is part of a daily spiritual practice or sadhana, not a mere commercial enterprise.
Portrayal of Hindu Deities is meant to emanate divine vibrations, to connect us to the supernatural that they symbolize.

Unfortunately nowadays, due to either ignorance or plain disregard for the Hindu view of art there is rampant denigration of Hindu Deities and concepts. What denigrators do not consider is :
Hindu deities are not meant to be glorifications of the human form, their portrayal is not meant to express the beauty or eroticism of the human body.

Portrayals are for the devotees to invoke the Deity’s energy into the form, for the purpose of worship.
Examples of erotic art like Khajuraho temple carvings do NOT include Deities like Shiva, Rama, Lakshmi, Ganesh.

A person causing noise pollution cannot get out of penalty under the pretext of freedom of expression.
So also the spiritual pollution caused by denigration cannot be condoned !
People ignorant about this often condone or overlook denigration, while stepping on the sensitivities of millions of Hindus.

From today, let us be alert to such denigration and let us protest peacefully an lawfully with proper education

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

Suppose a net has been cast into a lake to catch fish. Some fish are so clever that they are never caught in the net. They are like the ever-free.
But most of the fish are entangled in the net. Some of them try to free themselves from it, and they are like those who seek liberation. But not all the fish that struggle succeed. A very few do jump out of the net, making a big splash in the water. Then the fishermen shout, ‘Look! There goes a big one!’

But most of the fish caught in the net cannot escape, nor do they make any effort to get out. On the contrary, they burrow into the mud with the net in the mouths and lie there quietly, thinking, ‘We need not fear any more we are quite safe here.’ But the poor things do not know that the fishermen will drag them out with the net. These are like the men bound to the world.
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

Sri Sri Babathakur

I have no mission at all, yet My only mission, the missionless mission, is to spread out this ‘Science of Oneness’, ‘Adhyatma Vidya’, to the people of the world, irrespective of caste, creed, sect, faith, religion, etc., without any sense of restriction or limitation, just like the luminous function of the sun which itself remains unattached by all objects of the creation that it illumines.

Consider
Your house to be Ashram
Your body to be temple
Your mind to be priest
Your Self to be Ishta
Wisdom to be your Realization

Knock, knock the heart door, the door will open and all diversities will disappear with the dawn of Self-knowledge.

Enlighten yourself with light of Oneness and gradually you will be illuminated.
Sri Sri Babathakur

Krishna and Bhagavad Gita

MY SPACE:

I said in today's counselling post in which a guru advises about quitting sweets after he himself quit it. So, a person should speak only what he does.

If a smoker advises others not to smoke, it will not be effective and the people will not believe that.

If a sattan speaks about vedas, who will hear that?

So, if you expect others to spread positive vibrations towards you, you should spread the same towards them.

If you love others, they will love you.

If you bless them, they too will bless you.

If you are genuine, genuine people will associate with you.

Thus, what you sow, you will harvest.

So, sow good and harvest good.

LIFE IS NOT ABOUT COMPLAINING:

LIFE IS NOT ABOUT COMPLAINING:

If you have
Food in your fridge,
Clothes on your body
A roof over your head and
A place 2 sleep
U r richer than 75% of the entire world.

If you have
money in your wallet
A little change
And Can go anywhere you want
U are among the top 18% of the worlds wealthy people.

If you alive today with more health than illness,
U are more blessed than the million people
who will not survive this week and die.

If you can actually 'READ' this message
and understand it,
U are more fortunate than the 3 billion people in the world
who Cannot see
Cannot read Or suffer mental retardation.

Life is not about complaining pain and sorrows.
It's about a thousand other reasons to Thank our Creator!!!

Bhagavad Gita on Ignorance

Teachings on Ignorance from the Bhagavad Gita

The Lord takes neither the demerit not even the merit of any; knowledge is enveloped by ignorance, thereby beings are deluded. (5.15)

But to those whose ignorance is destroyed by the Knowledge of the Self, like the sun, to them Knowledge reveals the Supreme. (5.16)

Out of mere compassion for them, I, dwelling within their hearts, destroy the darkness born of ignorance by the luminous Lamp-of-Knowledge. (10.11)

Constancy in Self-knowledge, perception of the end of true knowledge --- this is declared to be "knowledge, " and what is opposed to it is "ignorance. " (13.12)

The fruit of good action, they say, is Sattvic and pure; verily, the fruit of Rajas is pain, and the fruit of Tamas is ignorance. (14.16)

** Can parents attract a more advanced and sattvik soul before conception through spiritual practice? **

* Like and Share *

Yes, it is possible to attract a more advanced and more sāttvik subtle body into the womb through spiritual practice. This is only possible when parents are doing a considerable amount of spiritual practice, (i.e. a minimum of 4-5 hours a day according to the six basic principles of spiritual practice including the sacrifice of body, mind and wealth to serve God).
In the event of the spiritual practice by parents, suppose the first subtle body in line (according to the strength of give-and-take with the parent) to come into the womb is not that sattvik, then it will get superseded by the next most sattvik subtle body in line. Some of the characteristics of sattvik children are that they are well behaved, intelligent and well adjusted. There are also less chances of having physically and mentally challenged children. The reason for this is that people have challenged children due to negative destiny. Destiny is overcome through spiritual practice. If parents are doing a high amount of spiritual practice according to the six basic principles of spiritual practice then their negative destinies are reduced.
If a Saint (i.e. a person above the 70% spiritual level) is to be born then the spiritual level of the mother needs to be at least 50-60% to be able to bear the positivity of the baby. The mother’s spiritual level holds 70% importance as opposed to the father’s spiritual level.

Krishna and Bhagavad Gita

Pic sent by Pallavi Sharma.

STORY:

A nice story sent by Sam Bali.

One day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad.”

“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.

“Oh yeah,” said the son.

“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered, “I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden, and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden, and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard, and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on, and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us; they have friends to protect them.”

The boy’s father was speechless.

Then his son added:

“Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are.”

Stages till non-duality through chanting the Name of God

Stages till non-duality through chanting the Name of God

1. Purification of the soul
Chanting the Name of God purifies the soul. One can go beyond body-awareness by purifying the soul. Once we are able to go beyond body-awareness, we are able to attain union with God's wish. Through the union with God's wish, we can attain the Principle of non-duality.

2. Oneness with Time
The Principle in the Name brings about oneness with the Universe. This itself is oneness with the effect of 'place', that is, oneness with Time.

3. Creation of spiritual emotion
The external chanting of the Name done with effort purifies the gross body. Purification of the gross body leads to improvement in the functioning of the body. Through the process of this improvement, thoughts also get purified. This itself is termed as creation of spiritual emotion. When spiritual emotion is created through the Name, we take more interest in chanting of the Name. This is termed as earnestness in Spirituality.

4. Earnestness and spiritual experience
Through earnestness, the soul becomes familiar with the world of spiritual experience. He chants the Name again and again to get spiritual experiences.

5. Faith
Through this process, his intellect is purified and the obstacle of intellect in his spiritual practice is removed. The spiritual emotion is now transformed into faith in God.

6. Reduction in Ego
Ego starts reducing through the awareness of doing all activities without 'I'ness.

7. Unexpressed spiritual emotion
Once ego is reduced, the expressed spiritual emotion is transformed into unexpressed spiritual emotion.

8. Automatic internal chanting and its effects
We get the spiritual experience that through the awareness of unexpressed spiritual emotion, our chanting becomes automatic.

- This spiritual experience is in the form of a flame of the soul
- At the level of the five subtle motor organs, this spiritual experience is manifest in the form of Bliss
- At this level, the soul understands God's intention behind any incident

The above is an excerpt from the SSRF Holy Text "Importance and Benefits of Chanting", Vol. 31.
