CONDUCT OF THE RESPECTIVE CASTES--DHARMA :
On the request of the sages, Suta described about the virtuous and invirtuous activities of a man
according to the respective castes he belongs to. He said:
"A brahmin who performs the rituals, as described in the Vedas, only is entitled to be called a
Dwija. A brahmin who is not that proficient in the Vedas is called a 'Kshatriya brahmin'. A
brahmin engaged in agricultural activities and business is called a Vaishya-brahmin'. A brahmin
who is in the habit of condemning and criticizing others, is called a 'Shudra-Brahmin'.
"A Kshatriya who looks after the welfare of his subjects is called a king, while the rest of them
are known as simply Kshatriya. A Kshatriya who indulges in business is called a Vaishya
Kshatriya. Similarly a Kshatriya who engages himself in the service of the three superior castes -
Brahmin Kshatriya and Vaishya is called a Shudra Kshatriya.
Dharma is considered to be of two types- 1) Dharma performed by matter and materials. 2)
Dharma performed by indulging in physical activities.
The performance of Yagya etc comes in the first category. Making pilgrimages of holy places
comes in the second category. During the Satya Yuga, meditation was the way to attain self
knowledge. During Treta Yuga, it was attained by penance, during Dwapar Yuga it was attained
by performing 'Yagya' while in the present era of Kali Yuga, idol worship is considered to be the
means to achieve self-realization. Invirtuosity invites sorrow while virtuosity bestows joy and
happiness.

A Battle Between Shri Ram and Ram Bhakt Hanuman
A Battle Between Shri Ram and Ram Bhakt Hanuman
Bhagwan Ram was seated on his royal throne. DevRishi Narad, Rishi Vishwamitra, Guru Vashishta and many other sages were also present in the court four counseling him. They were all contemplating on some religious issue. Right then DevRishi Narad said, “hey scholars, please let me know who is more powerful. “The God himself or His Name”. After a long debate the questions remained unanswered. Then DevRishi Narad himself declared that “His Name” is higher than the person name and went to the extent of proving the fact before the dispersal of the royal court. Then Narad Ji called Shri Hanuman Ji and said, “when everyone was about to leave the court”, “You will bid greeting to every Sage but not Vishwamitra because he is a king”. Then turn to Rishi and said “He does not deserve the same respect and honor as others present here”.
Hanuman Ji agreed and obeyed Maha Rishi Narad. RajRishi Vishwamitra was very upset by seeing this rudeness of Hanuman Ji. As he was trying to compose himself DevRishi appeared before him and said, “Did you notice the arrogance of Hanuman? He know that you have done mare favor for his lord Shri Ram by giving him the knowledge. It was because of you he could marry Devi Sita, still Hanuman ignored you and paid obeisance to all other saints and sages. He has insulted you intentionally”. Provoked by DevRishi Narad, Rishi Vishwamitra became very angry. He went to King Rama and said , “your devotee Hanuman has insulted me publically, so he should get the death penalty before sunset tomorrow for his arrogance. Rishi Vishwamitra was Shri Ram’s Guru and Ram could not disobey his Guru at any cost, so he had to punish Hanuman Ji for his disrespect shown to the Guru. Shri Ram was dumb-founded for a moment because Hanuman was his most beloved devotee. The news of the death penalty of Hanuman by Shri Ram became the talk of the town and it spread like a wild fire. Hanuman Ji was very said two. He repented for his misdeed and went to DevRishi Narad and request him to protect him from Rishi Vishwamitra’s wrath and from the arrows of Shri Ram. I did that because of your suggestion. DevRishi Narad replied very calmly. “Don’t worry Hanuman”. Don’t be dismayed only do what you has been advise to do. Get up early in the morning and take a bath in the Saryu River. Then stand on the banks of the river and start chanting Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram. I will guarantee you, that nothing will happen to you. The next day Hanuman Ji did as DevRishi Narad told him. People from all over the kingdom gathered there to see the harvest test of Hanuman’s Devotion and Shri Ram’s strict values and rules (Maryada Purushottam). Then Shri Ram Ji came and stood at a distance from Hanuman’s Ji and started looking at him with kindness, but he is called Maryada Purushottam so against his will he started shooting arrows at Hanuman who was fully engrossed in chanting his name Jai Ram Shri Ram Jai Jai Ram. None of his arrows could touch Hanuman Ji. Shri Ram was exhausted but Hanuman Ji was only looking at his Lord with total surrender, love and devotion. Shri Ram used the most powerful weapons he had never used before but nothing could not harm Hanuman Ji. Then Shri Ram aimed his Brahmastra on him. Hanuman Ji kept chanting Shri Ram Mantra and did not move at all. The crowd of on-lookers was under a spell. They were calling out loudly victory to Shri Ram Bhakta Hanuman repeatedly. When DevRishi Narad notice the culminating Brahmastra he went to Rishi Vishwamitra and requested him to stop the unique battle. He said oh great sage, Hanuman Ji was very ignorant about your grace but does that make a difference in your greatness in anyway?. However this was a little drama that I directed to show the significance of “Ram Naam”. Do you agree now that Naam is more powerful than Shri Ram Himself. Vishwamitra was convinced and ordered Shri Ram to stop. Hanuman Ji came and prostrated himself on the feet of Shri Ram. He expressed his gratitude and apologized from Maharishi Vishwamitra. RajRishi not only forgave him but blessed him too, that his devotion towards Ram will be the loftiest example in time to come. “So the Greatness of Ram Naam was established”.

Whenever the embodied soul is neither happy in happiness, nor sad in sorrow, does he become fit for liberation in the real sense. This state of Sthithapradnyata (one who doesn’t get perturbed by external factors) is achieved at 80% spiritual level and these souls are at Sadguru level. Hence, only the saints who are at Sadguru level qualify for the final liberation.

Holy Mother Sarada Devi Thoughts on Japa
Holy Mother Sarada Devi Thoughts on Japa
Japa will eventually bring spiritual realization.
Do not give up Japa even if the mind is unwilling and unsteady. You must go on with the repetition. And you will find that the mind is getting gradually steadier – like a flame in a windless corner. Any movement in the air disturbs the steady burning of the flame; even so the presence of any thought or desire makes the mind unsteady. The Mantra must be correctly repeated. An incorrect utterance delays progress.
A single utterance of Lord’s name is as effective as a million repetitions of it, if only you do it with a steady, concentrated mind. What is the use of repeating a million times with an absent mind? You must do this whole-heartedly. Then only can you deserve His Grace.

Parvati's Test
Parvati's Test
Sri Bhagavan was looking into the Siva Purana and related, “Siva has the transcendental and immanent aspects as represented by His invisible, transcendental being and the
linga aspect respectively. The linga, manifested as Arunachala
originally, stands even to this day.
“In the sphere of speech, Pranava (the mystic sound AUM) represents the transcendental (nirguna), and the Panchakshari (the five-syllabled mantra), represents the immanent aspect (saguna).”

originally, stands even to this day.
“In the sphere of speech, Pranava (the mystic sound AUM) represents the transcendental (nirguna), and the Panchakshari (the five-syllabled mantra), represents the immanent aspect (saguna).”
To illustrate this Sri Bhagavan recounted the anecdote of Parvati testing Rama.
Rama and Lakshmana were wandering in the forest in search of Sita. Rama was grief-stricken. Just then Siva and Parvati happened to pass close-by. Siva saluted Rama and passed on.
Parvati was surprised and asked Siva to explain why He, the Lord of the Universe, being worshipped by all, should stoop to salute Rama, an ordinary human who having missed his consort was griefstricken and moving in anguish in the wilderness looking helpless.
Siva then said, “Rama is simply acting as a human being would
under the circumstances. He is nevertheless the incarnation of
Vishnu and deserves to be saluted. You may test him if you choose.”
Parvati considered the matter, took the shape of Sita and
appeared in front of Rama, as he was crying out the name of
Sita in great anguish.

He looked at Parvati appearing as Sita, smiled and asked, “Why Parvati, are you here? Where is Sambhu? Why have you taken the shape of Sita?”
Parvati felt abashed and explained how she went there to test him and sought an explanation for Siva saluting him.
Rama replied, “We are all only aspects of Siva, worshipping
Him at sight and remembering Him out of sight.”

2. Silent Eloquence of Sita
Lakshman Brahmachari from Sri Ramakrishna Mission asked, “Enquiry of ‘Who am I?’ or of the ‘I-thought’ being itself a thought, how can it be destroyed in the process?”
Sri Bhagavan replied with a story.
When Sita was asked who was her husband among the rishis (Rama himself being present there as a rishi) in the forest, by the wives of the rishis, she denied each one as he was pointed
out to her, but simply hung down her head when Rama was
pointed out. Her silence was eloquent.
Similarly, the Vedas also are eloquent in neti-neti (not this,
not this) and then remain silent. Their silence is the Real State.
This is the meaning of exposition by silence. When the source
of the ‘I’-thought is reached it vanishes and what remains is the Self.

Dakshinamurti from ramana maharishi
Dakshinamurti
The Self alone, the Sole Reality, Exists for ever. If of yore the First of Teachers Revealed it through unbroken silence Say, who can reveal it in spoken words? – Ekatma Panchakam, Sri Bhagavan.
Sri Bhagavan once told the story that follows to Sri Muruganar. This brings out the profound significance of the Supreme Silence in which the First Master, Sri Dakshinamurti is established.
Sri Bhagavan once told the story that follows to Sri Muruganar. This brings out the profound significance of the Supreme Silence in which the First Master, Sri Dakshinamurti is established.
Sri Bhagavan said, “When the four elderly Sanakadi rishis first beheld the sixteen-year-old Sri Dakshinamurti sitting under the banyan tree, they were at once attracted by Him, and understood that He was the real Sadguru.
They approached Him, did three pradakshinas around Him, prostrated before Him, sat at His Feet and began to ask shrewd and pertinent questions about the nature of reality and the means of attaining it.
Because of the great compassion and fatherly love (vatsalya) which He felt for His aged disciples, the young Sri Dakshinamurti was overjoyed to see their earnestness, wisdom and maturity, and gave apt replies to each of their questions.
But as He answered each consecutive question, further doubts arose in their minds and they asked further questions. Thus they continued to question Sri Dakshinamurti for a whole year, and He continued to clear their doubts through His compassionate answers.
Finally, however, Sri Dakshinamurti understood that if He continued answering their questions, more doubts would arise in their minds and their ignorance (ajnana) would never end.
Therefore, suppressing even the feeling of compassion and fatherly love which was welling up within Him, He merged Himself into the Supreme Silence. Because of their great maturity (which had ripened to perfection through their year-long association with the Sadguru), as soon as Sri Dakshinamurti assumed Silence, they too automatically merged into Supreme Silence, the true state of the Self.”
Wonderstruck on hearing Sri Bhagavan narrating the story
in this manner, Sri Muruganar remarked that in no book was it
mentioned that Sri Dakshinamurti ever spoke anything. “But
this is what actually happened”, replied Sri Bhagavan curtly.
From the authoritative way in which Sri Bhagavan replied and
from the clear and descriptive way in which He told the story,
Sri Muruganar understood that Sri Bhagavan was none other
in this manner, Sri Muruganar remarked that in no book was it
mentioned that Sri Dakshinamurti ever spoke anything. “But
this is what actually happened”, replied Sri Bhagavan curtly.
From the authoritative way in which Sri Bhagavan replied and
from the clear and descriptive way in which He told the story,
Sri Muruganar understood that Sri Bhagavan was none other

First I advise you not to attend such mayavadic lectures. You will end upin confusion as you got confused now. Follow a single path that will be good for you.
It is the mayavadic concept. Mayavadis feel happy in equalising man with Krishna. They say: “You are god; I am god; And everyone is god”. They also say that one can mingle with god after this life time.
So, if we consider the mayavadi concepts, there are 110 crores of gods in India; 160ncrores of gods in China; Totally, 700 crores of gods in this planet.
That is why, so many bogus gurujis exist in this world. Such bogus gurujis claim that they are god and you are also god. So, they receive the treatment and respects meant for god.
But, Krishna came as Sri Caitanya Maha Prabhu and showed us how a devotee should be! Srimad Bhagavatham establishes that we are the parts and parcels of Lord. This does not mean that we are equal to Lord.
Light emanates from sun. So, can we say that a sun ray is equal to the sun? It is equal in nature, but, different in magnitude.
Similarly, man is equal to god in quality, as he comes from God. But, man differs in the magnitude, ie, power. Man’s capacity is limited. Very small.
Krishna can remember all the births of ours; We can not remember even a single birth.
Krishna can lift a hill with His finger tip. We can lift to the maximum of 20-25 kilograms.
Krishna can dance with 1000 girls by expanding as 1000 Krishnas. But, we can never multiply even once.
So, whatever you take, we have very negligible power compared with Krishna.
So, how can we and Lord be equal?
In another angle, we have an origin; But, God has no origin.
Those who have origin is man; The one who has no origin is god.
Let us read the Room Conversation between devotees and Srila Prabhupada in Paris on 11.8.73:
“Prabhupada: But you are saying... Was this tape recorder was existing, or somebody has prepared?
Yogesvara: A man has prepared it.
Prabhupada: Man has prepared it. Then somebody must prepare.
Yogesvara: But it's man's intelligence that has created that machine.
Prabhupada: Well, man or somebody, but try to understand generally: Anything that you see, that is created by man or beast or somebody. It is created. So this cosmic manifestation, why do you say that it is not created? It is created. You do not know who has created. That is your ignorance. But as I have no experience, in this material world, which is not created... It is created. You are created. Still. How can you say it is not created?
Guru-gauranga: But then the profane, Prabhupada, they say that: "Let us carry that logic to the very end, that even God is created. Then why... You say God is having no..."
Prabhupada: No. No. God is created, you can say. But when a created thing is, then he's not God. Our, our proposition is that everything is created, but finally if we find somebody, he's not created, then he's God.
Yogesvara: They would say: our conclusion was just now that everything has to have been created.
Prabhupada: Eh?
Yogesvara: Everything has some source of origin.
Prabhupada: Yes.
Yogesvara: So if everything has some source of origin, how can there be something that does not have a source of origin?
Prabhupada: No, when there is no source of origin, that is God.
Bhagavan: Just like Krsna showed Arjuna His universal form. So He established that He was the origin of everything, and He had no cause.
Prabhupada: Yes. Cause of all causes. Sarva-karana-karanam [Bs. 5.1]. Everything has some cause, but when you finally come to a thing who has no cause, then He's God.
Bhagavan: The rascals...
Prabhupada: Vedanta-sutra: janmadyasya yatah. The origin of everything. But He's not originated from something else. And that is God. Therefore He's called Absolute. Everything here is relative. And God is Absolute. That is the difference between Absolute and relative.”
So, reject if anyone says that we and god are equal. A product can never e equal to the source. This is a very basic understanding. They differ in this very basic point.
CONCLUSION:
We have similar qualities of god; But, we quantitatively differ from Him. Then, how can we equal the God?

RITUALS OF THE WORSHIP OF SHIVA—SACRED
PIGRIMAGES :
On the request of the sages, Suta describes about the methods of worshiping Shivalinga. He
says-- "One should construct a Shivalinga either of mud, rock or metal and establish it in such a
place where it can be worshiped daily without any hindrance."
"The 'Char' (mobile) Linga should be small in size and the Sthira (fixed) linga should be large.
The Linga should be constructed along with the pedestal. The rule for constructing a Shivalinga
has been specifically described. The breadth of thickness of the Linga should be twelve times the
thickness of the devotees (one who is constructing the linga) finger, while the length should be
twenty-five times. After establishing the linga in the above mentioned way, it should be
worshiped after performing the Shodasopachar. The thumb also symbolise a Shivalinga and its
worship can be done. While worshiping the Shivalinga, the mantra OM NAMAH SHIVAY
should be continuously chanted. Chanting this mantra for five crore times, helps a man in attaining to the abode of Shiva. Worship of Shiva done during the mid night is considered to be
especially fructifying.
There are numerous places of pilgrimages connected with Shiva at the banks of river Ganges and
river Indus. River Saraswati is considered to be a sacrosanct river and having an opportunity of
living at its banks, helps in attaining to the abode of Brahma.
Similarly, there are famous temples of Lord Shiva at Kashi, Naimisharanya, Badrikasharama and
Kedar etc. There are many temples of Shiva at the banks of holy river like Ganges, Yamuna,
Saraswati, Godavari, Narmada, Kaveri, Sarayu, Tungabhadra etc. Worshiping Shiva at these
places bestows undiminishing virtues and liberates a man from all of his sins.

PURPORT
Such knowledge in Krsna consciousness can be achieved by a faithful person who believes firmly in Krsna. One is called a faithful man who thinks that, simply by acting in Krsna consciousness, he can attain the highest perfection. This faith is attained by the discharge of devotional service, and by chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, which cleanses one's heart of all material dirt. Over and above this, one should control the senses. A person who is faithful to Krsna and who controls the senses can easily attain perfection in the knowledge of Krsna consciousness without delay

The story of Ahalya
The story of Ahalya, wife of Gautama Rishi, is an important episode in the epic Ramayana. Ahalya story happens during the exile period of Sri Ram and is found in the Bala Kanda. Bhagavan Sri Ram touches a stone near the Ashram of Gautama Rishi and it suddenly turns into a woman. This was Ahalya who was cursed by her husband to become a stone.
Indra, the king of demigods, was infatuated by the beauty of Ahalya. He attempted to seduce her by taking the form of Gautama Rishi. Ahalya did not stop the advances of Indra, although Ahalya knew that it was not her husband who was approaching her.
When Gautama Rishi, who had gone for his morning bath, suddenly returned and Indra took the form of a cat and escaped from the ashram. The rishi, however, knew through his yogic powers what had occurred. He cursed his wife, turning her to stone, and put a curse on Indra as well.
It is said that Indra was cursed to roam around with 1000 vaginas on his body. Later Indra did penance and turned the vaginas into eyes. Another Purana states that Indira was cursed that he will lose his testicles. Devas is said to have replaced it with that of a male sheep.
Ahalya who was cursed by her husband to become a stone attained Moksha when Bhagvan Sri Ram touched her with his foot.
Where desire is, there is no bliss – Swami Sivananda
Where desire is, there is no bliss; where bliss is, there is no desire…
Pain is a blessing in disguise. Pain is an eye-opener. Pain is your silent teacher. Pain will turn your mind toward God….
Faith is the belief in the unknown. Faith heals, faith creates, faith works wonders, faith moves mountains. Faith is the searchlight for God-finding.
The goal of life is to become one with the Eternal…You cannot reach the goal without leading a righteous life and without possessing a pure heart.

This material world is certified by the Lord in Bhagavad-gita as a dangerous place full of calamities. Less intelligent persons prepare plans to adjust to those calamities without knowing that the nature of this place is itself full of calamities. They have no information of the abode of the Lord, which is full of bliss and without trace of calamity. The duty of the sane person, therefore, is to be undisturbed by worldly calamities which are sure to happen in all circumstances.
